Throughout my life, I have been so fortunate to travel the world and stay at some of the most incredible places this world has to offer, but hands down Florence has to be one of the richest cities I have come across. The history, the scenery, and the shopping – nothing really compares. Whilst there I decided to try out Villa Cora as it came very highly recommended through a good friend of mine. Definitely a decision I will never regret, from the second you pull up to the beautiful estate, you gasp for air trying to take in the stunning ambiance of this hidden treasure.
Villa Cora is located inside a centuries-old park that overlooks the Boboli Gardens, on the hills just outside the historical center of Florence. The villa is an aristocratic residence built at the end of the XIX century upon commission by Baron Oppenheim reflecting the architectural styles of that period, dominated by a strong eclectic decor that provides the villa with different, sometimes even bizarre, artistic styles. Villa Cora, inaugurated when Florence was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy, has become throughout the years one of the major
cultural and cosmopolitan symbols of Florence.
Villa Cora became an exclusive grand hotel at the end of 1960 and reopened in late 2010 after a detailed three-year restoration.
The Hotel offers every type of room: classic and deluxe, family, duplex junior suite and nine exclusive suites. Every detail was designed to create unique surroundings where luxury and elegance are combined harmoniously and aesthetic taste is accompanied by high quality comfort.
The bathrooms are entirely in Carrara marble (OBSESSED!) have an exclusive assortment of courtesy beauty products by Annick Goutal, yes please. The room I was staying in had a view of the courtyard, and had a walk-in closet, what more can someone ask for? The hotel is located just 6 minutes away from the center of Florence where you can experience some of the best shopping and sight seeing in your life! Home to some of the world’s top brands such as Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo, you can rest assure that the brand’s stellar pieces will be on offer.
I already plan on going back to this immaculate Villa in the summer to properly take in all that Florence has to offer.
