It’s been a while since my last blog post, forgive me, I’ve been busy working hard to make 2017 a great year! With all the meetings and shoots I have been having these past few weeks, I knew It was time for some me time. Not many people know this, but London is one of my favorite cities in the world. It is hands down the best place to shop, and because I have been going since I was a kid, It somewhat feels like home. So It was only normal that I would fly out when I needed to get away but still feel at home. I’ve tried out my fair share of hotels when in London, but I was ready for something new. Every time I would tell one of my friends about my trip, they would tell me you need to try the Corinthia hotel, It is so conveniently located in the heart of London and the service is just impeccable.
So the Corinthia hotel it was! Housed within a Victorian building, 294 rooms including 40 suites and 7 penthouses offer sweeping views across London’s most popular landmarks. Corinthia Hotel London provides unrivaled world-class luxury with superb ground floor offerings including The Northall restaurant, serving the best in British produce throughout the day; modern Italian cuisine at Massimo Restaurant & Bar and the musically inspired Bassoon Bar. I got in at 6:30am on a Friday as when taking flights that are longer than 5 hours, I need to be on red-eye flights. I got to the hotel by 8am dreading the thought of waiting until 3pm to check in, but to my surprise my room was ready and waiting for me. What a great start to my Corinthia experience! I got to the room and I immediately fell In love, the layout of the room made It look like a little apartment. The first thing I do after checking In to a hotel is freshen up, now this sounds silly, but the floors of the bathroom were so perfectly heated – I didn’t want to move from there. I don’t know how to explain it, you know that feeling when you are taking a shower and the water temperature is just right, you end up standing under the water for an extra 5 minutes – it was the equivalent of that.
After freshening up I unpacked my clothes In a walk in closet that would make any closet space in other hotels look pointless. It brought me a sense of satisfaction to see how beautifully laid out the clothes were in the closet, It was photoshoot ready! Now that my unpacking was done, I jumped into a cloud of sheets for a little nap, just to get my energy back – and boy did I ever. Lunch at Massimo (one of the great restaurants the hotel has to offer) followed, I felt like I was in Italy because of how good the food was. I ended the day with some tea and scones, one of my favorite things to have while visiting – It was simply the icing on the cake that was a wonderful day.
The service I witnessed at the Corinthia London was one of the best I have ever experienced, I honestly can’t wait to go back! I can safely say It is my new home away from home. With me, It is the little attention to details that makes all the difference, and this is something they have mastered hands down.
